we were lucky to have a representitive from the company fedrigoni come into our university and give us a talk and workshop experience relating to the paper company. with him, he brought a variety of products. they all ranged from different sheets of paper showing the types of paper stock they have on offer, booklets and work from clients who have used their paper, as well as other items they were more than happy to share with us.
the representitive was more than happy to answer any of the questions we might have had for them, and the responses were very helpful. they gave us insight as to what paper stock would suit certain situations, and recieving feedback from a third party was also helpful for us as a class as well.
I learned a lot from this workshop. I was able to feel and appreciate different paper stocks on a more personal and up close experience. I now understand the importance of choosing the perfect paper stock most suited towards my style of work. also, whiel I am currently working on my dissertation as publication, i now have somewhere to reference if i need to know more about paper stock and it is a place where i can actually order my paper from. overall, this workshop was extremely helpful, getting involved with a company is always a god learning experience, and from this i definitely gained more knowledge within the area of paper, which of course is very important to a graphic designer.
